Hybrid Approach(1hr lesson):-
- 1st 5mins = Discuss what you'd like to do for that session (if not already discussed)
- 20mins = ("Learning") collaborative discussion about chosen topic
- 30mins = ("Practice") work together answering exam questions on chosen topic
- Last 5mins = Evaluate how the session went, maybe you'd prefer to do more "Practice" time than "Learning" time.

Jan is a spectacular teacher. As someone who finds maths incredibly hard he was such an asset in the run up to my GCSEs. What makes Jan so amazing is that he doesn't just let you get away with knowing the answer. He makes sure that you understand why it's the right answer. That for me was his stand out quality which made such a difference and helped me massively. I went from getting 4s and 5s to getting a 7 in my real exam!
I am Jan’s mother. Jan has been tutoring since he started his first degree at the University of Manchester, successfully helping his pupils significantly improve their attainment in Maths, Physics, and Computational Studies. He has had many regular and returning tutees, including younger siblings of existing pupils, and is consistently praised for his teaching and commitment. He enjoys teaching and is very proud to be able to help his pupils improve. He teaches with clarity and is brilliant at explaining complex problems easily and simply. He is patient and methodical. I could not recommend him more highly as a teacher or person.
Jan is the greatest tutor I have encountered!
All my life I’ve had trouble with math and a lot of tutors that didn’t quite explain the world of math in the unique and thoughtful way that Jan does.
I recommend him to anyone that has math difficulties and also for those who enjoy math and wish to practice.
When I started out the tutoring lessons I disliked math, thanks to Jan I’ve learned so much about math that I’ve began to really appreciate it. I’ve reached some amazing and improved results at uni and at work, and it all is because of Jan’s patience and infinite knowledge! :)
Jan is an excellent tutor. He’s very knowledgeable and user friendly. He’s very good at focussing on difficult areas and building the self confidence to make them so much easier, which should lead to significantly improved results. The lessons are enjoyable too!
