About Nicole
I graduated from Fine Art at Goldsmiths University of London with first class honours and was awarded the Cass Art Materials Award as well as the V22 Studio Scholarship. I studied my foundation at City and Guilds, receiving a Distinction. Recently I had a solo exhibition, 'Traces in Mist', in Chongqing, China, after completing a two month residency. I exhibited in the 2025 Cass Art Prize exhibition, 2024 Staff Biennale at the Tate Modern. My Fine Art background in Art History, Art Theory, and Contextual Studies gives me a strong foundation in both academic and studio-based approaches.
Whilst in my final year at Goldsmiths, I interviewed prospective students alongside two tutors, therefore I'm very familiar with the type of students that top art schools look for. I have worked with GCSE and A-Level Art students in South-East and North London, planning and delivering workshops, tutorials, talks, supporting students with final projects, interview and portfolio preparations. For the past 3 years I have been a tour guide delivering my own researched talks to the general public.
Having trained in figuration, I am highly skilled with oil/acrylic painting and drawing, spanning from hyper realism and life-drawing to more gestural and intuitive techniques. Currently, my practice consists of large scale abstract paintings, printmaking on silk, and drawing. Experimentation is at the core of my practice, I'm constantly trying to find the limits of different materials/mediums and colours.

Importantly, my teaching approach is student-centred: I adapt to each person and aim to draw out interests and strengths they may not yet recognise. To cultivate the unique sensitivity of the student, my classes focus on exercises and process alongside developing longer personal projects, whilst providing critical and focused feedback. I have extensive experience tutoring all levels up to university. As a tour guide at the Tate Modern sharing my own research with the general public, I have extensive art historical knowledge therefore constantly suggest relevant artists and exhibitions for the students to look further into. As these talks are to people of all ages and backgrounds, I am very conscious about 'art speak' and ensuring accessibility to more theoretical and critical concepts.

Would 100% recommend nicol as a teacher very kind and patient person!
I studied with Nicole as her studio mate at Goldsmiths University. She’s a hardworking and passionate artist who’s well organised and self-motivated in her practice. She was always generous with advice on my work, offering helpful suggestions and sharing practical tips when needed.
Nicole also ran a small painting group on the course, which was thoughtful and well put together. She has a calm, supportive way of working with others, and I’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for an art tutor.Nicole helped me sketch my illustrations for my textiles portfolio, teaching me drawing techniques and how to develop my own style. She was very patient and supportive and I feel a lot more confident now in my ability to convey my ideas!
Nicole has always been wonderful at teaching. She is very knowledgeable and will guide you in your practice and offers great portfolio advice. Her comments are always insightful and she puts a lot of work and time into her lessons for me. I always feel supported and encouraged to explore my ideas. She’s always been a very reliable tutor and has made my journey so much more enjoyable!
Nicole is a wonderful teacher, with extensive knowledge of painting, drawing and beyond. She is kind, caring and understanding - I highly recommend!
I trust Nicol as a supporting, approachable and intelligent teacher. She is able to meet me at my interests and work from there.
She was specifically interested in discussing what I learned from things that I feel failed and also felt were successful. In each instance she was interested and made sure to gave time to speaking about why I felt these certain ways about projects, seeing if there was more to learn and take from my experiments.
She is undogmatic and clearly understands art as an open and diverse mode of communication without medium prejudice but in her own practice specialises in and knows a lot about the craft of painting, its method and techniques.Nicole is an extremely kind, warm and knowledgeable artist. If you are looking for someone to delve deeper into your art practice and why certain things are working whilst other parts of painting are perhaps getting stuck, Nicole is a perfect tutor. She has patience and gives you space to think your own thoughts which is essential in tutoring.
Nicol is an exceptionally talented artist but, perhaps even more significantly, has the ability to understand all dimensions of art, to explain it clearly and to take you into the space it can occupy in your creative mind. She is a young, driven and imaginative teacher. I would highly recommend her tutorial skills. You can only benefit from time spent learning with Nicol.
Nicole was a good artist and teacher to me when I was in year 2 and she was in year 3 at goldsmiths. She made really great works and shared helpful ideas with me.
