About Gracie

Ever since I was little before I could read I would sit and make up words to picture books. When I learned to read I started gobbling down book after book at a voracious rate. I love the magic that words create pulling you into a magical world that makes you cry or laugh. I think stories are a universal language which brings emotion and awe to each individual no matter age race or culture. I am still an avid reader and currently working on writing my first novel. I have a huge love for English and hope to impart it on other students.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is focused on building confidence, clarity, and enjoyment in English. I aim to create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I understand that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and learning style.

What makes my approach unique is that I combine structured learning with creativity. I don’t only focus on getting the “right answer,” but also on helping students understand how language works and how they can express themselves more effectively. I encourage active participation, discussion, and step-by-step guidance so that learning feels manageable and engaging rather than overwhelming.

I am proficient in English and teach in English only.

In a typical lesson, students can expect:

A quick review of previous work or homework
Clear explanations of new concepts, broken down step-by-step
Guided practice questions and exercises
Help with essays, comprehension, or assignments
Revision techniques such as summaries, flashcards, and study strategies
Preparation for tests and exams

My lessons are aimed at Grade 6–9 students who need support with English, especially reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, literature analysis, and exam preparation. I also help students improve their study skills and build confidence in their abilities.

As a student myself, I understand the pressures that come with school, which helps me connect well with younger learners and explain things in a relatable and approachable way. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also enjoy learning English.

If you find me a suitable Tutor,
I am mainly available after 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and most hours on a Saturday
I have flexible hours though so if this doesn't work for you contact me and I can figure something out.
