About Nisha

Hi! I'm a dedicated and compassionate elementary tutor with a strong belief that every child can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and guidance. I specialize in working with students from Kindergarten through Grade 6, helping them build confidence, develop essential skills, and foster a genuine love of learning. Whether your child needs support in reading, writing, math, or just a little extra encouragement, I’m here to meet them where they are — and help them move forward with clarity and confidence. I have extensive experience tutoring elementary students, including those with learning differences (such as ADHD, dyslexia, or ESL needs). I understand how to adapt lessons to fit each child’s unique learning style.

My approach is rooted in patience, engagement, and confidence-building. I adapt to each student’s learning style and pace, using a mix of: Interactive learning: I use stories, visuals, games, and real-life examples to make lessons fun and relatable. Scaffolding: I break down complex topics into bite-sized pieces, gradually increasing difficulty as understanding improves. Positive reinforcement: I highlight effort and progress to build self-esteem and motivation. Multisensory techniques: Especially helpful for younger students and those with learning differences (e.g., using physical objects, drawings, or movement in learning). A Typical Lesson Plan A standard session (around 45–60 minutes) might look like this: Warm-up (5–10 minutes) Quick review game or recap from last lesson Brain teaser or fun question to activate thinking Mini Lesson (10–15 minutes) Introduce a new concept (math, reading, writing, etc.) Use visual aids, examples, and brief explanation Guided Practice (15–20 minutes) We work through problems together I model a few examples, then the student tries with support Independent Practice (10–15 minutes) Student applies what they’ve learned with minimal help I observe and note areas to revisit Wrap-up & Reflection (5–10 minutes) Quick review of the key takeaway Student shares something new they learned Optional fun challenge for “homework” or extra practice What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor I make learning feel safe and fun — no pressure, no fear of mistakes. I tune into emotions and mindset — confidence is just as important as knowledge. I personalize everything — no cookie-cutter lessons; I adapt to each learner's needs, interests, and pace. I'm tech-savvy — I can integrate apps, interactive tools, or even make custom visual aids if needed. Inclusive teaching — I have experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, ESL needs, and other learning differences. Who the Lessons Are For I tutor elementary-level students (typically ages 5–12, or Grades K–6), focusing on: Core subjects: Reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, and science Support for specific needs: Struggling readers (phonics, comprehension) Students with IEPs or learning differences ESL/ELL learners Gifted students needing enrichment Homework help and test prep: Including state assessments and classroom quizzes.
