About Sofie

My name is Sofie, I am a multi-media fine artist working across a wide range of materials and concepts. I believe art should be a cathartic and enjoyable process where you feel comfortable to create and try new things.

I have been involved with art for many years as it is a subject I am very passionate about. I love to see exhibitions, read about art and make my own art and I am excited to share this knowledge with future students.

About the lesson

With my lessons I aim to further the students individual art practise and encourage out of the box thinking. Having studied at one of the top art universities I have a lot of experience discussing artworks in progress through regular group critiques. These skills will allow me to help push the conceptual and aesthetic qualities of the students work.

My lessons are 45 minutes where I will look at the students work with them and discuss with them how they could improve elements whilst being very encouraging. I will also be able to provide technical help when concerning material and writing about art. I will help to provide relevant artist research and art theory. My lessons are open to students of all ages, studying at all levels. I will tailor the teaching to the student as art practices are unique to the artist therefore require personalised tutoring.

My lessons are based in London and online.

Within my own practise I have worked with a wide variety of materials including: drawing, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography and more. I have previously tutored primary school children for core subjects as well as being a nanny which has given me proficient skills in working with children.
