About Mathias

I studied for five years at Sciences Po Paris, before obtaining my bilingual masters degree in International Security. I also studied for eight years at the English institute of the British Council, where I took and passed the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE). Finally, I lived in Canada for a year, as well as several months in various English-speaking countries (Ireland, United States, United Kingdom). I have been teaching English since 2013. Since my final year of highschool, I have followed a dozen different students. All of them have benefited from the support courses that I provide, and have seen their academic level improve. Several of them called on my services to prepare for exams (TOEFL and IELTS), which they obtained brilliantly, others for academic support in high school, still others to strengthen their level of English before going to work abroad.

About the lesson

The courses I offer are aimed at students of all levels, from primary to higher education, as well as to people preparing for an exam in English, (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE), or wishing to strengthen their English level within their professional activity. I teach academic English, from primary school to higher studies, but I also teach for official exams and offer a deepening of everyday vocabulary and the culture of certain English-speaking countries. My classes focus on the basic aspects of learning a new language: reading texts, writing, grammar exercises, listening and speaking training. I also train in regional specificities of the language (accents, particular idioms), as well as the specifics of the business world, higher education, or job search. I use classic course material (books and exercise books, audio CDs) for all levels, as well as some extra-curricular resources (novels or short stories, films, digital resources).

Details

My rates for one hour of class vary according to the level of the student. For beginner or basic English courses (primary, European level A1 or A2, FCE exam), it takes 20 € per hour. For more advanced English courses (college or high school, European level B1 or B2, CAE exam), as well as for preparation of the TOEFL and IELTS exams, it takes 25 € per hour. For semi-bilingual English courses (end of high school, European level C1 or C2, CPE exam), it takes 30 € per hour. These prices remain variable according to the actual level of the pupil and the aspects of the language he wishes to study. All equipment is provided.
