About Shivam
Maths has always been a subject I've enjoyed, and I've kept using it throughout my degree, from statistics to econometrics, so the concepts have stayed fresh and I understand them from multiple angles, not just how I was originally taught them.
I want to tutor because I know firsthand how big a difference the right explanation at the right time can make and I've seen how much a student's confidence grows once something finally clicks. That moment is what I enjoy most, and it's what I aim for in every lesson.
I take tutoring seriously and treat every session with the same professionalism I'd bring to any commitment: I prepare in advance, adapt to how each student learns best, and I'm reliable and punctual. My goal isn't just to help you get through the next exam, but to build a genuine, lasting understanding of Maths that gives you real confidence going forward.

My approach to tutoring is all about building real understanding rather than just memorising past papers — I start by identifying exactly where a student gets stuck, break it down clearly, then have them practise until it sticks. Lessons usually run 60 minutes, with longer sessions around exam time or shorter ones for specific homework help. I hold a 2.1 in Economics from Southampton and As in A-Level Maths and Economics, alongside years of experience mentoring students at school and university and coaching sport to children aged 4-16. I tutor GCSE and A-Level Maths students, particularly those finding the GCSE-to-A-Level jump difficult and wanting genuine confidence, not just exam drilling.
