About Zara
Hi, I’m a dedicated and enthusiastic primary tutor specialising in reading, phonics, and early English skills for KS1 and KS2 children.
I have experience working in education and supporting children with a wide range of abilities, including those who need extra help building confidence in reading and literacy. I am passionate about making learning enjoyable, accessible, and successful for every child, regardless of their starting point.
My focus is on helping children become confident, fluent readers who actually enjoy reading rather than seeing it as a challenge. I support pupils with:
* Phonics and early reading skills
* Reading fluency and comprehension
* Building confidence when reading aloud
* Early writing and sentence structure
* SATs preparation and school support
I tailor every lesson to the individual child, adapting my teaching style to suit their needs, learning pace, and personality. My sessions are structured but friendly, creating a safe and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them.
I believe that progress happens when children feel supported, understood, and motivated. I focus on small, achievable steps that build long-term confidence and lasting improvement.
Lessons are engaging and interactive, using a variety of texts, questioning techniques, and guided practice to keep children involved and interested.
I offer both online and in-person sessions (depending on location), and I always provide feedback so parents can clearly see progress over time.
I am committed to helping every child reach their potential in reading and English, while also building confidence that extends beyond the classroom.
