About Daisy

I am a recent graduate of Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Oxford University and a current employee with Tate (as well as a professional cat enthusiast and book nerd!) Before my degree, I studied Ancient and Modern History for a year before making the switch to CAAH. I specialised in history, but have experience and competence in art, archaeology, ancient languages and literature. While I did not study English, I have a strong passion for literature and grammar. While at university I was a Krasis Scholar at the Ashmolean Museum, and have as a student ambassador with both Exeter College and Reach Cambridge, giving me experience working in an educational environment with children. I have tutored privately for three years, and have succeeded in helping 100% of my students to get Oxbridge interviews. I am enthusiastic about writing, and I get a genuine thrill out of proofreading! I am happy to help with tutoring in history (all periods), as well as university applications, just pop me a message and I will be happy to get started.

About the lesson

I am an Oxford University graduate in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History and a professional history buff looking to help with GCSE/A-Level or university applications. As well as my degree in Classics, I was also accepted into Oxford for Ancient and Modern History in 2018, giving me experience with the HAT test, as well as displaying my solid knowledge of modern history as well as ancient. My preferred teaching method is to work on essay questions and writing techniques, ideally with something the student has brought to me which I could mark and discuss either in person or over Skype. I like to address the question and what it is asking, assess the structure of the essay and how to tackle exams and timings. I am happy to help those who feel they need some extra help with writing, revision, study skills, paragraph structure, essay writing, understanding topics, or whatever concerns you may have. I am especially passionate about inclusive and adaptive learning, and students who have learning difficulties are most welcome. Whether you are struggling to understand concepts in your English classes, or economic issues in history, or even just need some extra help structuring your exam essays, please pop me an email and we can arrange a meeting. For Oxbridge/university applications I can offer advice and proofread personal statements, mark and advise for the HAT test, offer interview prep and give general advice or answer any questions you may have about Oxbridge or university life in general.
