About Beatriz
I'm 22 years old, and I live in the suburb of Rio de Janeiro. I study Portuguese and German Letters in Niteroi at UFF. I've always been fascinated by different languages and also to pass my knowledge about it to others. I love how knowing new languages your way of seeing the world changes completely, because with the acquisition of a new language we can connect with expressions from other cultures that we don't have when we express ourselves in our mother tongue. By having contact with new cultures we can become better human beings not only for the people around us but for ourselves. Different cultures give us the power to deal with life's problems from different perspectives. Language reflects a lot on who we are and how we act. For this and other reasons I chose to be a teacher, I believe that knowledge sets us free. I have been working as a private English teacher for the last few years. I also had the experience of teaching English at an independent social pre-vestibular in Guadalupe, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, which greatly enriched my teaching methodology with more diverse audiences.

I have an approach that can range from traditional to more dynamic and personalized lessons. As I'm also involved in artistic projects, I like to mix a little language with culture and art. I believe that language acquisition is organic and that bringing art and culture together in the student process can help a lot in learning. As I know that not everyone adapts to more playful classes, I am also able to introduce the student to a more traditional method. I've already had the experience of using my knowledge of performing arts to give one of my English-speaking students greater ease in speaking, and it worked a lot. I always try to get to know the student and adapt to their needs and experiences.
