About Cecily
Studying at the Lycée has allowed me to build a more nuanced approach to language and literature. In the same year I read Stendhal, Atwood, Camus and Miller. I am now able to combine two very different systems of learning- one which caters towards structure and rigid argumentation, and another which caters towards imagination and originality. I am currently studying humanities (ESPS with philosophy and international relations as my specialisms) at UCL.

Throughout my time in the OIB section, where students take an extra 6 hours of English a week, I provided aid and advice to my classmates. I have an aptitude for fine-combing essays (especially when it comes to grammar) and creative writing pieces. I’ve helped my and my friends’ younger siblings with pieces for school and exams, and know how to balance constructive criticism and encouragements. I’m happy to provide lessons in both French and English!

Cecily has been great with Luc and Camille, she has a knack with children and goes at their pace whilst also pushing their progress forward. They clicked with her immediately and were keen to learn and looked forward to lessons (a miracle!). Super patient and kind but with a clear teaching plan and a very very good understanding of vocabulary and love of language (as she is fluent in French it was perfect for our family). Also very good at reading help/progress which can be arduous for me! Would recommend 100%.
