About Daniel
Born and raised in Koreatown, Daniel has always been a proud Angelino. He has two younger sisters who are both in college; his experience of teaching them in hard subjects in school gave him a passion for tutoring.
Daniel plays a unique sport called kendo, which one can think of as a martial arts version of fencing. He enjoys volunteering at his local community service in South Los Angeles and his favorite foods are curry, sundubu-jjigae, and Korean BBQ.

Mathematics doesn't have to be intimidating. My teaching method is built on a simple belief: every student can succeed when problems are broken down into clear, manageable steps and taught in a way that fits how they learn.
I specialize in high school mathematics and take a warm, patient, student-centered approach. Rather than lecturing, I focus on active listening and understanding each student's individual learning style, then adapt my lessons accordingly. No two students are the same, so no two lesson plans are either.
How a typical lesson works:
We start by tackling a problem together, with concise, easy-to-follow steps so the concept clicks. From there, I gradually hand over the reins, guiding the student as they work through problems on their own. This "we do it together, then you do it" progression builds real understanding and, just as importantly, genuine confidence.
What makes my method different:
Many tutors simply re-explain what a textbook already says. I go further by drawing on student psychology and active listening to find why a concept isn't landing, then reframe it until it does. My goal isn't just correct answers on today's homework; it's a student who trusts their own mathematical ability.
If you want a tutor who is supportive, engaging, and fully invested in your results, I'd love to work with you.
