About Kaileigh
I've worked consistently as a tutor for a year, but I've had experience tutoring during high school. Now that I've graduated with a degree in applied math, I want to take the material that I've learned and use it to help others understand math. Also, I prepare for my sessions so my students and I make the most of our time. Ultimately, I want to be an encouraging and calming presence to my students, and I want to help them as much as I can.

When I start sessions with a new student, I take the first 5-10 minutes to get to know the student. I like to share a little bit about myself as well as learn about the student and their interests. After that, I like to get a game plan of what we're accomplishing in that session, which is most times getting help with homework. When we approach the topic of struggle, I generally ask the student what they think the first step is and what the thought process is. If they are completely lost, then I'll help them by explaining the work process and the reasons behind the steps I'm taking. I ultimately want my students to be encouraged and walk away understanding what they struggled with before. I'm very patient with all my students and I think that's my greatest quality. I like to let my students process and think about what they're doing so I make sure that I wait as they process. I get that people sometimes need time to process what they just heard during a lesson, so I make sure that I give them that time. I do this with all my students, so whatever level you are, I treat them equally. On this platform, I'm gearing towards helping college-level students, but I'm also available for middle and high school students. I've taught third and fourth grade math, middle school math, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, precalculus, statistics, calculus, and other areas of math.

Excellent! She understood that I was weak on certain topics and agreed to help me in learning all the basics.
