About Abbey

Hi! I’m Abbey a trained professional dancer and circus performer who LOVES helping kids, teens, and adults feel confident, capable, and excited to move. I have been in the teaching industry for 5 years. My classes are all about building self-belief, learning safely, and creating a warm, positive space where every student feels supported from the moment they take a class. I completed both a Certificate II and Certificate III in Dance, which trained me in strong technique, safe dance practices, choreography, flexibility, and performance skills. I also have experience working with children and hold a current Blue Card, so parents can feel confident their children are learning in a safe and professional environment. My teaching style is friendly, encouraging, and easy to follow. I break things down step-by-step, celebrate every achievement, and make sure everyone learns at their own pace. For kids and teens: I make classes fun, energetic, and full of creative moments. For adults: Whether you’re returning to dance, starting for the first time, or just wanting to move your body, I provide a judgment-free space to build strength, confidence, and joy. No experience needed truly! My lessons are suitable for students from 6 years old to adults of all ages. Each class includes a warm-up, skill-building, technique practice, and plenty of encouragement so every dancer leaves feeling proud and motivated.

My Approach to Teaching Dance Teaching Approach & Methodology I teach: Jazz, commercial Heels, baby ballet, lyrical, Contemporary, stretch and conditioning. My teaching style is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on safe technique, clear breakdowns of movement, and building confidence through positive reinforcement. I teach using a mix of: Demonstration-based learning (showing the movement step-by-step) Verbal cues & corrections suited to all learning styles Strength and conditioning to support safe progress Musicality and performance quality to help students feel expressive and confident Goal-based training (flexibility goals, technique goals, performance goals) Every class is designed to be welcoming, motivating, and professional whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer. My classes are suitable for: All ages — from 5 years old to adults Complete beginners wanting to build confidence Intermediate dancers wanting to improve technique Advanced performers wanting choreography, performance quality, and industry preparation Students training for auditions, school performances, eisteddfods, or fitness/flexibility goals
