About Rolando

Strengths: Experience and flexibility are my biggest strengths. The fact that I attended various educational institutions throughout my life as a student, allowed me to develop the ability to adapt to various learning styles and to acknowledge the fact that each student learns in a different way, what works for one student may not work for another, I'm very aware of that. It shows the power of flexibility. Adaptation too. Technology savvy. I can use Different teaching methods such as graphic designs, visual cues, auditory, kinesthetic instructions, depending on the students' needs. There may be some disabled students with physical impairments for example, one to one tutoring, peer reviews, flashcards, reading and memorizing sessions, active recalling, practice problems, formative assessment and summarize assessment, asking questions and on-field laboratory and experimental demonstrations. This goes to show how technology is prevalent nowadays and how its use is imperative in today's education system.

About the lesson

In my opinion, education is the most fundamental building block for the sustainability and progress of a nation. It’s the most powerful tool that we can use at our disposal to ensure the improvement of our daily lives within our societies. People need access to decent education to survive in this competitive world, by providing them with the basic intellectual luggage they need to be successful. In a nutshell, education is the backbone of society. Without education, society will lose its structure and pragmatism thus we may witness a drastic increase in societal issues such as poverty, discrimination, poor technological advancement, high unemployment rate, vandalism, etc. I want to be part of the team that will hinder these societal issues from happening. I want to become a teacher in order to impact students in a positive way and to be part of their journey to success, by igniting in them the flame of curiosity and the passion for learning. I believe that knowledge is the only wealth which can be shared without losing its value. Luckily enough, I had the opportunity to learn at a higher level, therefore, I would also like to provide this opportunity to the leaders of our future generation, regardless of their ethnic belonging, skin color or race. I believe every child deserves the right to a decent education. I’ve been a Biology and Chemistry Tutor at Texas Southern University which gave me a decent prior, experience in the teaching and education field. This also goes to show my passion, dedication and enthusiasm in this field. With that being said, I believe that I’m an ideal fit for any available teaching position. I'm currently enrolled in Texas teachers and I already have my teaching statement eligibility.
