About Natasha

As a teacher of 25 years, I have taught every year level and every type of English. I have helped students understand that regardless of the career they choose, good communication is key. If you are able to find your passion and effectively communicate your own expertise; you're unstoppable. I have taught everything from English Communications, English, Senior English, English Literature and even a diploma program for English in I.B.
Many students find English difficult and I understand that not feeling confident in your own ability is often the part that stops us from doing our best. I am also currently a university student, now training in psychology and understand the pressure of assessment.

About the lesson

The way in which I approach student learning is to find their strengths to help support them in the topic and assessment they are currently engaged in. Through also looking at skills that still require attention, it is about making a student as independent as possible and confident they can attain the result and goal they wish. Being able to give scaffolding and adding knowledge to their already growing skills, will help students as they move through each year level. If there are some areas that will require closer attention, I will cater theses skills to the necessary unit and embed this into their learning, rather than creating new and separate work for them. I will happily look at drafts and give feedback to help guide them, without doing the work for them. Once a student feels confident, they often produce work they are proud of and know they can move forward on their own.
