About Avery
The sound of a guitar string vibrating against a wooden body connects me to my earliest memories of playing. Sitting in a quiet room with a student, I see the moment they finally link rhythm guitar patterns to their own musical intuition.
I have had the privilege of working with 474 students over the years. My lessons center on practical skills like reading tabs and mastering barre chords. We spend time on scales and modes so you understand how to navigate the neck with confidence.
Reading sheet music is another tool we use to deepen your connection to the instrument. This journey is something I truly enjoy sharing with others.

Starting out, you might feel like your fingers are moving in two different directions at once. Actually, that feeling is just your brain catching up to the physical demands of the instrument. I rely on my 13 years of experience to break these habits down into manageable parts. We take things one step at a time.
I offer a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum high between our meetings. Since I hold a BMus from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, I bring a structured yet accessible view to guitar studies. My teaching style is direct and friendly. We avoid unnecessary fluff during our time together.
You will see progress happen quickly when we maintain this regular rhythm. I am here to help you get ready for the stage.
