About Patterson
Imagine the sharp, clear ring of a steel string vibrating under your fingers for the first time. We start by tuning your instrument and establishing a comfortable posture. My classes rely on the deep musical knowledge I gained at the University of Melbourne.
You will practice specific electric techniques and complex blues progressions. I incorporate my 6 years of teaching to ensure progress feels steady. You will receive free chord charts and tab sheets shared after each class. These materials help you keep track of your development at home.
We focus on practical skills that make playing guitar feel natural. I love watching the moment everything finally clicks into place. It is deeply rewarding to see learners grow into musicians.

Sharing the gift of music keeps my creative spirit alive after so many years. I spent 6 years refining my craft to help students find their voice. My BA in Music from the University of Melbourne provides the foundation for my teaching methods. I spent 13 years performing across the Australian Latin music scene.
These experiences shaped how I approach teaching blues progressions and electric technique. I prioritize reading tabs and mastering barre chords to build confidence quickly. Songwriting remains a core part of my musical identity. Seeing a student finally nail a difficult transition brings me genuine joy.
