About Lily
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Guitar and a Master of Music in Guitar Performance. Over the last 11 years, I have helped students develop technical ability, musical understanding, and performance confidence across a variety of styles. My passion for guitar began through live performance experiences, songwriting, and years of dedicated practice. Teaching became a natural extension of that passion because I enjoy helping others experience the rewards of music. Watching students grow remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.
My teaching philosophy is centered on encouragement, adaptability, and meaningful progress. Every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to individual goals while maintaining a clear structure for improvement. Technical skills are always connected to musical expression, allowing learners to understand the purpose behind what they practice. Students receive supportive guidance that builds both competence and confidence. This creates a positive learning environment where growth feels achievable.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing, arranging music, and exploring different guitar styles. These experiences help me bring fresh ideas into lessons and keep learning relevant. Seeing students achieve goals they once considered difficult is deeply rewarding. I strive to make every lesson engaging and supportive. My goal is to help learners build skills that inspire lifelong enjoyment of music.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students build strong technical skills while discovering their own musical voice. I focus on practical development through bending techniques, vibrato control, phrasing, tone shaping, rhythm accuracy, fretboard knowledge, and expressive performance skills. Lessons combine structured learning with creative exploration so that students understand not only how to play but also how to communicate through music. Every session is designed to make progress clear, enjoyable, and motivating. This balanced approach helps learners grow with confidence.
Each student follows a learning path tailored to personal goals and interests. Some learners want to improve solo playing and expressive phrasing, while others focus on rhythm work, improvisation, or stage confidence. I use storytelling, humor, musical examples, and real-world song references to make lessons engaging and memorable. Students receive practical exercises, personalized feedback, and achievable challenges that encourage steady improvement. This creates an environment where learning feels rewarding and inspiring.
My goal is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy both the technical and creative sides of guitar playing. As skills improve, learners gain greater freedom to express themselves and explore new musical ideas. Lessons encourage curiosity, discipline, and self-belief. Every achievement contributes to stronger musicianship and personal growth. I want students to feel proud of every step they take on their musical journey.
