About Aubrey
I am a dedicated guitar tutor with over 11 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, including those with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, or anxiety. With a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and additional background in music therapy and special education, I bring both musical expertise and a compassionate approach to my teaching. My lessons are adaptive and student-centered, focusing on strengths rather than limitations. I believe every learner has the ability to thrive with the right support, encouragement, and structure. By adjusting lesson pace, using sensory tools, and incorporating creative exercises, I ensure that each student feels comfortable and engaged. I work with beginners, intermediate players, and advanced students, tailoring sessions to individual goals—whether learning favorite songs, building technique, or exploring songwriting. For students with learning differences, I create strategies that reduce stress, build focus, and make progress visible and rewarding. Confidence is central to my teaching. I celebrate small wins, provide positive feedback, and guide students to see their growth through music. This not only builds skill on the guitar but also strengthens self-belief and resilience. My ultimate goal is to help every student find joy, confidence, and success through music, no matter their background or challenges. Music is for everyone, and I am committed to creating an inclusive and encouraging space where every learner can shine.

My teaching approach is based on making guitar learning accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring for every student. I believe music should be a journey, not a pressure, and I shape my lessons with that in mind. Whether a learner is picking up the guitar for the first time or exploring advanced styles, I adapt my methods to fit their goals and comfort level.
I focus on both technical skills and musical expression, covering classical, jazz, acoustic, bass, and electric guitar. For students who learn differently, I use sensory tools and flexible strategies that make lessons easier to follow. I adjust the pace so that no one feels left behind, while still keeping progress steady and rewarding.
Confidence-building is at the heart of my methodology. I give positive feedback that encourages learners to keep practicing and to believe in their own growth. Students are guided to see mistakes as stepping stones rather than setbacks. This creates a supportive atmosphere where learning becomes joyful.
I also use creative approaches such as ear training, improvisation, and rhythm games to make sessions engaging. For those who want to play casually or professionally, I design lessons that highlight their personal interests, whether it’s strumming around a fire or exploring complex jazz sounds.
Above all, I aim to help each learner discover their own voice through the guitar. Music is more than skill—it is confidence, creativity, and connection, and I want my students to experience all three.
