About Rachel
I keep a beat-up guitar in the corner of my office to remind me why I started playing. My education at Berea College gave me a BA in Folk Music, but the real work happened in kitchens and at festivals.
I help hobbyists and working professionals refine their lead guitar skills through clear, repetitive practice. Grade exam candidates often find that my focus on oral tradition provides a necessary break from standard notation. It is fun to watch a student finally nail a difficult chord transition after weeks of struggle. I simply love the sound of a well-played song coming to life in the room.

I admit that I prefer watching your hands move over reading a technical manual during our first session. Pacing is everything when we tackle complex fingerpicking or electric technique. We will balance your specific goals with the foundational skills of tuning, maintenance, and songwriting. My BA in Folk Music informs how I teach improvisation and soloing to ensure you play with actual intent.
I keep things moving forward with steady feedback. Practice is the only secret. Let me know when you are ready to play.
