About Emilia

¡Hola a todos! Soy Emilia y soy tu nueva profe de español. My name is Emilia, and I would love to be your new Spanish teacher!

I am a language teacher with several years of experience teaching Spanish to students of different levels, ages, and nationalities.

Although I come from Canada, Spanish has been an important part of my life for many years. I have lived, studied, and worked in several Latin American countries, which has allowed me to develop a strong command of the language as well as a deep understanding of Latin American culture.

I spent two years in Mexico, where I completed a Diplomado de Formación Docente focused on language teaching. During that time, I also taught Spanish to international students.

I later worked remotely as Academic Director for a language school based in Colombia, where I helped design curricula, study plans, and educational materials. I also taught both Spanish and English to international students.

While living in Brazil, near the borders of Argentina and Paraguay, Spanish became part of my daily life. I worked in the tourism industry and taught Spanish to foreigners who wanted to improve their communication skills for travel, work, or life in Latin America.

Today, I teach Spanish to students from Canada, the United States, France, Greece, and several other countries. I also collaborate with a number of language schools.

My lessons are interactive, personalized, and communication-focused. My goal is to help students build confidence and use Spanish naturally in real-life situations.

Whether you would like to learn Spanish for travel, work, relocation, exam preparation, or simply for the pleasure of learning a new language, I would be delighted to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

One of the greatest advantages of private lessons is that they allow you to learn Spanish in the way that works best for you. Every student is different, and no two lessons are exactly alike. During our first session, I will assess your level, learning style, interests, and objectives in order to create a personalized learning plan tailored to your needs.

Do you enjoy grammar and vocabulary exercises? Do you prefer natural conversations about everyday topics? Or perhaps you would rather learn through music, videos, travel, and Latin American culture? With me, all of these approaches are possible — and we can even combine them to create lessons that are engaging, effective, and enjoyable.

Thanks to my years of experience living in Latin America and using Spanish on a daily basis, my lessons focus on practical, natural Spanish that is actually used in real-life situations. My goal is to help you gain confidence and communicate more fluently from the very beginning.

My classes primarily use a neutral Latin American Spanish accent, which is widely understood throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

What does a typical lesson look like?

1. Warm-up conversation
2. Homework review and corrections
3. Revision of previous material
4. Introduction of the day's topic or grammar point
5. Practical activities and real-life communication practice
6. Questions, feedback, and lesson summary

The lesson structure remains completely flexible and can be adapted to your preferences, level, and learning style.

If you are preparing for an exam or working toward a specific goal with a deadline, lessons will follow a more structured study plan designed to maximize your results. If your main objective is to speak and understand Spanish more confidently, we will focus on a more communicative and natural approach.

Homework can be assigned after lessons to help you continue practicing between sessions, but it is entirely optional and can be adjusted according to your schedule and preferences.

I prepared with Emilia for my Toefl!! It was very fun. She gave me lots of exercises and homework. We had a lot of repetition and I thought it was boring, but it really helped me understand the structure for my speaking responses and writing tasks. She gave me homework every class and then we corrected it together so I could see my mistakes. I really appreciate Emilias help since I was able to achieve 108 on my exam!! My requirement was 90, so I am very happy!! Thanks !

Partner lessons: from €40 per hour
Small group lessons: from €50 per hour
Exam preparation lessons (DELE, SIELE, etc.): from €40 per hour
Discounted lesson packages are also available

Lessons must be confirmed through Superprof at least 72 hours in advance in order to reserve your preferred time slot. Lessons may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before the scheduled session.
