I have also worked in a IT company but currently fully focused on teaching. My main method is going topic wise and after completion of each topic I go for a doubt clearing session and later a test on that particular topic. Any confusion on any topic at any point of time will be cleared at that very point. Conducting the test helps the student to have a clear concept on each topic and also the student will complete each topic on time. Hope to have a interactive session.
