About Zhao En

I'm a university engineering student and a hands-on maker. Most of what I know I taught myself through breaking things, rebuilding them, and refusing to give up when a print failed or a board didn't work. That's exactly why I'm good at teaching this: I remember what it felt like not to understand, so I explain things simply, without assuming you already know the jargon.

I work with laser cutting machines, CNC machines, 3D printers (FDM and resin), CAD software like SolidWorks and Fusion 360, PCB design in KiCad and EasyEDA, and I solder and rework boards by hand. I build replacement parts, enclosures, and small prototypes. From a rough idea to something you can actually hold and use.

You can learn the practical core of it by designing, printing, and building with the tools you already have and a patient person walking you through it. My lessons are relaxed, 1-on-1, and built around your goal. We go at your pace, and I make sure you understand why we do each step, not just copy what I click.

About the lesson

I build things — and I'll teach you to build them too.

My lessons are practical, beginner-friendly, and free of heavy math. We work on real skills you can use immediately, one step at a time, with lots of patience and clear explanations.

What I teach
• 3D printing — slicing, orientation, tolerances, materials, troubleshooting (FDM and resin)
• CAD modeling — SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape: parts, enclosures, replacement parts
• PCB design — schematic capture and layout in KiCad and EasyEDA, ready for manufacture
• Soldering and rework — through-hole and SMD basics, hot-air work
• Enclosure and prototype design — from concept to a build-ready package

How lessons work
Every lesson is 1-on-1 and tailored to your level. We start from where you are, pick a small goal, and finish with something real — a modeled part, a working board design, or a print-ready file. You build along with me on screen-share, and I explain the "why" behind each step so you can do it alone next time.

Who it's for
Complete beginners, students, hobbyists, and anyone who wants to turn an idea into something physical. If you've ever felt behind on technical skills or stuck with a project you can't finish, this is for you.

Online or in person
CAD, PCB design, and 3D printing/slicing run perfectly online. Soldering and resin work are hands-on, so I offer those in person.

Bundles
Start with a single session to try it, or pick a project bundle and go from idea to a finished, documented build.

Base rate
• Online lessons (CAD, PCB design, 3D printing/slicing): SGD 35 / hour
• In-person lessons (soldering & rework): SGD 45 / hour; all equipment and materials provided!
• Minimum booking: 1 hour; most students choose 2-hours, where I make sure you have a completed work after every lesson.
