About Kai jie

Hi! I’m Kai, a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan. I’m now studying for my master’s degree in the UK, and I teach Mandarin because I truly enjoy connecting with people through language. When I see my students gain confidence and start expressing themselves in Mandarin, it’s one of the most rewarding feelings. Teaching helps me share not only my language, but also the stories and culture behind it — and that’s what makes every lesson meaningful to me.

About the lesson

I believe that language learning should be both engaging and practical. My teaching approach is student-centred — I always tailor each lesson to the learner’s goals, level, and interests. I combine conversation practice, vocabulary building, grammar explanations, and cultural insights to help students communicate naturally and confidently in Mandarin. I also like to use real-life examples, short videos, and situational dialogues to make lessons more interactive and enjoyable. A typical lesson lasts 50 minutes to an hour, depending on the student’s preference. I encourage students to speak as much as possible during class, while providing gentle corrections and feedback to help them improve fluency and pronunciation. I’m originally from Taiwan, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree at the University of Glasgow. I have experience teaching Mandarin online to students from different backgrounds and proficiency levels, including complete beginners and advanced learners. My lessons are suitable for students of all ages and levels, whether you’re learning Mandarin for travel, study, business, or personal interest.
