About Shuwey

Hey there! I’m Shawn (书崴), your soon-to-be favorite Chinese teacher. Born and raised in Malaysia in a Chinese family, I’ve been speaking Mandarin since I could talk (and probably even before that). I also speak English and Malay fluently, so don’t worry—I won’t leave you lost in translation. Why do I teach? Because I love seeing people go from “What did you just say?” to confidently speaking Chinese. My classes are simple, practical, and fun—no boring textbook drills, just real-life conversations and useful vocabulary. I’ll listen to what you need, customize lessons for you, and make sure you walk away learning something new every time. Plus, I promise I won’t judge your pronunciation… too much. Learning Chinese doesn’t have to be scary—let’s have fun with it! See you in class!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is flexible and student-centered. At the beginning, I will listen to each student’s expectations and needs for the class. Understanding their goals helps me create lessons that are relevant and useful for them.

Based on their needs, I will arrange lessons that focus on practical learning, ensuring that each class includes useful content that they can apply in real life. Whether they want to improve speaking, writing, or listening skills, I will tailor the lessons accordingly.

Additionally, every class will introduce new vocabulary to expand their language skills gradually. I believe consistent learning and practice are key to mastering a language, so I will incorporate engaging exercises, real-life conversations, and interactive activities to help students remember and use what they learn.

My goal is to make learning Chinese enjoyable, effective, and suited to each student’s learning style. Let’s learn together and improve step by step!
