About Jasmine
I am a PhD candidate in Hydrology with a strong background in environmental science, statistics, and data analysis. My research focuses on understanding natural systems using quantitative methods, which I bring directly into my tutoring. I have experience mentoring students in both academic and field settings, and I prioritize clear communication, patience, and creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
Outside of academics, I spend a lot of time in the outdoors—climbing, skiing, and exploring mountain environments—which is a big part of what inspired my interest in environmental science. I value curiosity, persistence, and problem-solving, and I aim to bring that same mindset into my teaching.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building conceptual understanding and real-world application, especially within environmental and natural sciences. As a PhD candidate in Hydrology, I work extensively with data, modeling, and quantitative analysis, and I aim to help students understand not just how to do calculations, but why they matter in real systems.
A typical session begins by identifying key concepts or problem areas, followed by working through examples together and applying them to practice problems or datasets. I emphasize interpreting results, understanding variability, and thinking critically about data, rather than just solving equations.
I work with high school and college students, particularly those in environmental science, biology, earth science, or related STEM fields, as well as anyone looking to strengthen their foundation in statistics and data analysis.
