About Roy

I am a very open and honest person who believes that school is not always the best place for children to learn.

With class sizes increasing, as well as workload, it can be too easy for some children to be missed by teachers or feel this way. I want to help children become lifelong problem solvers and therefore become far more in control of their own future.

Everyone is better than they know and I want to help them realise this so they never settle for anything less. They have the answers already in their head, I just need to help them find those answers.

About the lesson

By focusing on the children seeing questions in a different light, they will be far more able to understand Maths in general.

Too many primary-aged children are falling behind because of their mindset and self-belief. This is where I come in, I help children to believe in themselves and break down questions into manageable chunks until they succeed. These small steps will not only help them move forwards in Maths but in all subjects (even leading to GCSEs).

I can either work with children on a short-term basis to enable them to understand concepts and questions or it can be on a longer term to help mindset at the same time. I have been teaching primary school age children for almost two decades now - I've taught all year groups from Year 2 to Year 6 - and am currently Head of Maths.

Sessions can range in time to suit the child and situation. Typically, they will be from 30 minutes to an hour.
