About Christy

Hey! I’m Christy, I’m 20 and I’ve been tutoring Maths for over 3 years. I love teaching and really enjoy helping students feel more confident and less stressed about schoolwork. I’m super patient and try to explain things in a way that actually makes sense—no pressure, just support. Maths and Biology are my favourite subjects, and I get excited about making them easier for others to understand. I’m also really passionate about music. I’ve been playing piano for 13 years, I’m working towards my Grade 8, and I teach young beginners too. It’s something I’ve always loved and it’s so nice sharing that with others. I’m DBS checked and always try to keep things calm, positive, and encouraging. Whether it’s school help or piano lessons, I’m here to make learning a little easier (and more fun!).

About the lesson

I tutor Maths for students aged around 7 to 16, including Key Stage 2, 3, and GCSE level. I focus on helping students understand topics they find tricky by explaining things clearly and breaking them down step by step. I go over schoolwork, practise exam-style questions, and closer to exams, we work on past papers, timing, and exam technique. Lessons are usually 1 hour long, but I’m flexible and can do up to 2 hours depending on what the student needs. I can teach in either English or Cantonese. I’ve been tutoring for over two years and I’m really passionate about teaching—I love helping students build confidence and enjoy learning. I recently completed my A-levels in Chinese (Cantonese), Maths, Biology, and Further Maths, achieving A*, A, A, and B respectively. I’m patient, friendly, and try to keep lessons relaxed but productive.
