About Vinny
My name is Vincent Mazzola. Nice to meet you!
First and foremost, I'm a huge fan of video games, so if you like the idea of gamifying your study sessions by using your favorite snacks and favorite drinks as a way to keep your character stats and health up while taking boredom damage from (probably) your least favorite subject, I'm definitely the tutor for you.
I graduated from Kent State University as a Communications major with a 3.85 GPA. I also achieved marks in honors math my high school year that were close to C's.... um....
While that doesn't scream "math tutor," I did something pretty cool my Freshman year: I decided to lock in and re-take Calculus, while also re-learning all of high school math. This was one of the best decisions of my life because it taught me, "Hey, this math stuff isn't as hard as my teachers and peers are making it out to be."
I got an A in Calculus I. And you won't believe this: I loved math so much after seeing myself succeed, I took Calculus II just for fun. I earned an A in that, as well.
I know this sounds like I'm bragging, but I'm not. I'm simply saying that if I can do it, so can you. It's not hard to go from a C to an A, or even a D to an A.
Even the hardest questions on the SAT Math section are no harder than that final boss you had to beat in that video game you beat this year (aka Deathstroke from Arkham Origins or Malenia from Elden Ring). If you reward yourself with hot chocolate and gummies, maybe eating your dessert for the day while studying, you can make math enjoyable. (I know, crazy, right?)
It just takes good practice and a growth mindset.
No matter who you are, or what your goals are for your math class, I can help you achieve them.
I'm one of the only tutors who believes in anyone that wants to improve because I was in your spot. It's admirable that you are serious about improving your grade in math, and I want to help.

I tutor high school students and college students in mathematics. My method relies on giving my students the confidence they need, rather than stripping them of it.
Far too many tutors are too condescending and do not give their students a chance to understand the material. These tutors will judge you just for asking their help.
I don't do that. My lesson plans revolve around making your homework simple to understand because that's what you will be asked on testing day. Hard-earned money will be coming out of your pocket, and I want you to come away thinking, "Tutoring with Vincent was worth every cent."
