About Ava
I didn’t always love math. In fact, I struggled with it in high school, so I truly understand how frustrating, confusing, and discouraging it can feel. That experience is a big part of why I’m such a patient and empathetic teacher today.
Over time, I learned how math actually works and more importantly, how it can make sense. I grew to love the problem-solving, the logic, and the small wins that come from finally understanding something that once felt impossible. Now, I love helping students experience that same shift.
My goal is to help students build confidence, stop fearing mistakes, and start seeing math as something they can do. I focus on making lessons approachable, supportive, and even fun, while strengthening logical thinking skills that go far beyond math class.
I believe every student is capable of understanding math with the right explanations, encouragement, and time.

I’m a high school math teacher who tutors, giving me a deep understanding of what students are actually expected to know in class not just how to get the answer, but how to show work, explain thinking, and succeed on quizzes, tests, and exams. II’m patient, supportive, and genuinely enjoy working with students of all confidence levels :) I currently teach AP Calculus AB, Precalculus, and Statistics but I am comfortable tutoring any level or helping with test prep.
