As an example lesson, I like to get the student to try to read, write, and talk for a few minutes out loud to see where they're at, spend time teaching/helping with what they could improve on, then move on to a guided worksheet or individual example on that area. I would like to include something fun such as role-playing a situation where the skill would be needed, and finishing off with telling the student what they did well on, something they could work on, and giving a task for homework until the next tutoring session to help their learning grow!
