About Joanna

I am a fully qualified teacher and SEN tutor with over 20 years of experience. I tutor Maths and English to all ages, from primary up to GCSE.

Alongside 6 years of full-time teaching experience in both independent and state schools, I have supported a wide range of students aged 5–16 through private tuition and the National Tutoring Programme. I have experience working with children with a variety of SEN and SEMH needs, adapting my teaching to help each child feel comfortable, supported and able to make progress.

I am also a mum to two teenage boys, so I understand that every child learns differently. My lessons are calm, patient and tailored to each child’s individual needs. There is no pressure and no judgement — just plenty of encouragement, reassurance and time to learn at their own pace.

*Windsor Girls’ School: 9 GCSEs, all As and Bs.
*Windsor Girls’ School: 3 A Levels: Economics (B), History (C), Maths (D)
*Royal Holloway, University of London: History (BA Hons 2.1)
*Southampton University: PGCE Primary QTS

About the lesson

I offer high-quality, face-to-face SEN tuition in the comfort of your home, creating a calm, friendly and distraction-free environment where your child can feel comfortable and supported.

For families who prefer greater flexibility, I also provide fully interactive online lessons via Zoom, using carefully designed resources, shared materials and structured teaching methods to make each session engaging, purposeful and effective.

Most importantly, I believe that every child can learn, progress and achieve with the right support. My aim is to help each child build confidence, develop a positive attitude towards learning, understand what they are being taught and feel proud of their achievements.

I take a patient, individualised approach, adapting lessons to suit each child's needs, strengths and learning style.
