About Param

Hi! I’m Param, a dedicated and approachable math tutor with a strong academic background in the IB Mathematics program, having completed up to Math 31 IB AA SL. My goal is to make math not only understandable, but genuinely enjoyable for my students. I understand that math can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel supported and confident to ask questions. My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style. Whether it’s breaking down tricky concepts into simple steps or connecting problems to real-life examples, I make sure students truly grasp the “why” behind the math. With my own experience navigating challenging math courses, I know what it takes to succeed—and I’m here to pass on those strategies in a way that’s clear, relatable, and encouraging. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to helping every student achieve their personal best. Whether your child needs to strengthen foundational skills, keep up with class, or get ahead for future courses, I’ll ensure they leave each session feeling more confident and capable than when they arrived.

As a high school IB Mathematics student who has completed up to Math 31 IB AA SL, I bring both a strong academic foundation and a relatable, approachable style to my tutoring. I understand what it’s like to be a student tackling new math concepts, and I use that perspective to create engaging, confidence-boosting lessons.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My approach focuses on building deep conceptual understanding before moving to application. I break complex problems into smaller, manageable steps and use examples that connect to real-life situations so students see the “why” behind the math. I combine visual aids, hands-on practice, and guided questioning to help students think critically and develop problem-solving skills, rather than just memorizing formulas.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-Up – Quick review of previous concepts to reinforce memory.

Concept Introduction – Clear explanation using visuals or analogies.

Guided Practice – Working through examples together while explaining reasoning.

Independent Practice – Students attempt problems with support as needed.

Review & Reflection – Summarizing key takeaways and addressing misconceptions.

Preview of Next Lesson – A small teaser or real-life example to spark curiosity.

What Sets Me Apart

I’ve recently learned (and mastered) the higher-level math concepts, so I know the exact challenges students face and how to overcome them.

I tailor explanations to the student’s learning style, whether they need visual, verbal, or hands-on learning.

I’m patient, approachable, and make math feel less intimidating by celebrating small wins and progress.

My IB background gives me strong problem-solving strategies that I can adapt for all grade levels.
