About Katie
I am an energetic tutor with a genuine love for my subjects which I find students often catch too during our lessons. I started teaching as a debating and public speaking coach in schools, which is where I developed my skills as an English tutor. However, during lockdown, I started teaching online and gained plentiful experience preparing students for A-Levels, GCSEs, National 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers (I'm originally from Scotland!).
I also have experience assisting students on a short term basis with essay writing skills, and CV writing, often when they have reached university level.
I am now a post-graduate law student, recently achieving a Distinction grade in my Post-Graduate Diploma in Law and due to start my career as a lawyer next year. I am more than happy to speak to you about that experience if you are interested in a legal career!

I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor who makes sure each lesson is tailored specifically to my student.
Our first lesson will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, as I identify your strengths and areas you would like to work on, and speak to your parents too if appropriate. I will then provide a rough lesson plan, with room for changes as you improve.
My lesson typically last one hour, and we will work together on a variety of resources, example answers and essays to ensure you feel comfortable approaching whichever goal you have set for yourself.
I have experience teaching both online and in person, and in teaching students age 5 up to university level.
