About Gabriela

Hola, I’m Gabriela, a Mexican-American educator passionate about languages, culture, and human connection. I hold a Doctorate in Education from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, where I also earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Over the years, I’ve received several academic recognitions, including a university merit scholarship and a national research award in the field of educational innovation. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in various settings—ranging from local schools in Guadalajara to community programs in the United States. In Mexico, I worked for over five years as a Spanish and communication teacher at Colegio Cervantes Costa Rica. Since moving to the U.S., I’ve taught Spanish to adult learners and English as a second language in libraries, community centers, and virtual classrooms. I'm also certified as a peer counselor and participate in programs that support language learners from diverse backgrounds. Beyond teaching, I’ve been involved in multicultural exchange events, language workshops, and public speaking seminars where I represent Mexican heritage and encourage bilingualism.

About the lesson

My classes are welcoming, interactive, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I believe in creating a supportive and motivating space where students feel confident practicing real-life communication from day one. Whether you’re learning Spanish for travel, professional development, or personal enrichment, I adapt our lessons to meet your needs and build your confidence. I place a strong focus on speaking and listening through conversation-based practice and immersion. However, I also incorporate grammar, reading, and cultural elements naturally within our sessions to provide a comprehensive language learning experience. My background in education allows me to scaffold lessons in a way that’s both structured and flexible, depending on your pace and interests. As a teacher, I’m patient, enthusiastic, and always ready to celebrate your progress—no matter how big or small.
