About Alan
Since 2004, I have been teaching English for IELTS Academic and General Training, Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency as well as proofreading and marking dissertations, theses and University Personal Statements. I also teach Business English and general conversational English.
For IELTS and other exam classes, I encourage my students to improve their answers by using strategies that will help them achieve their highest possible scores in both speaking and writing.
As for proofreading and marking, there needs to be more communication with the writer so the content is as accurate as possible.
Regarding Business and General English, business role plays are very popular to practice interviews, negotiations, presentations and other skills. For conversational English, topics are used to encourage speaking with corrections and feedback.
As for me, I live in China with my wife and family and love reading books, taking my dog for a walk and swimming when I get the chance. Hope to see you soon!
