About Lucas

I want to teach because I enjoy enlightening my students with my personal passion for science and hopefully seeing them pick it up too! I used to struggle a lot as a student, and I am empathetic with those in the same situation as me.

If you choose to work with me, I will ensure a personalised and structured way of learning but one that is also interesting and engaging.

About the lesson

When you develop a joy for problem solving, you become ready to approach the hardest questions at A-level such that it almost becomes boring to do. I found it very hard to succeed when you feel like you study for the sake of studying. Exploring the beauty of these subjects also leads you to find the best and most unique resources.

So I teach STEM with the approach of instilling independent problem solving skills so any problem can be tackled. At the same time, I try to show why you are learning things and how they are useful in the world! A GCSE student of mine who did 2 hour lessons developed from Grade 3 to Grade 6's and 7's while having fun learning. I am open to teaching all levels though.

I am writing to share my experience with Lucas during my GCSE maths revisions/studies. He has tutored me for 2 hours each week from Late October to Late July. Lucas has been helpful when I struggle with certain maths topics and gave me explanations which helped me to understand maths even better. He has also given me more motivation and confidence in my skills at maths, which had helped improve from my mocks to the real GCSE.

Overall, I am happy with my experience with Lucas' tutoring as I have jumped up 2 grades from the November mocks (From a 4+ to a 6) and I am grateful for all his help.
