About Ismaeel
Hey, I'm Ismaeel. I'm an incoming Computer Science student at Imperial College London. I'm currently predicted 4 A*s at A-Level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and CS) and got straight 9s at GCSE.
Outside of school, I’m pretty obsessed with figuring out how computers work from the ground up. Instead of just using existing software, I like building things from scratch to see how they tick. For fun, I’ve written my own programming language interpreter, built a deep learning framework using only NumPy and matrix operations, coded a mini virtual machine, built a GPT-style language model from scratch using raw maths, and even built a functioning computer out of basic logic gates. Right now, I'm diving deep into cybersecurity, learning assembly language and how binary exploitation works. Alongside that, I'm getting even lower-level by doing hardware projects with Arduino and STM32.
Outside of tech, I think keeping a healthy balance is massive. I play competitive chess at a national level (rated around 2000 Elo), played age-group county chess for Northamptonshire, and played county cricket for Bedfordshire as well as rugby at a club level. These days, I also stay highly active in the gym. Balancing competitive sports and chess honestly just trained my brain to handle pressure, build discipline, and sit down to solve complex logic puzzles without getting frustrated.
I know how intense GCSEs and A-Levels can be because I’ve just finished them myself. I don’t do dry, old-school lectures. I prefer a casual, patient, peer-to-peer approach where we can actually break down hard concepts without it feeling like an interrogation.
I am also on the autistic spectrum myself. Because of this, I completely understand that not everyone's brain processes information or logic the same way. Standard school formats don't work for everyone. If you are a neurodivergent or SEND student, I am more than happy to completely adapt my teaching style to match how your mind works. No rigid rules, just focusing on whatever method makes the concepts click for you.

Nobody ever learned maths, physics, or computer science by just staring at a PowerPoint slide. My lessons are entirely based on a "learn by doing" approach. We keep things interactive, and a typical session usually follows three simple steps:
Finding the actual problem: We’ll start with a few quick questions or examples to see exactly where your understanding starts to trip up. There’s no point wasting your time re-learning things you already get.
Solving it together: Whether we’re tackling a brutal Further Maths proof, a tricky physics mechanics question, or writing code, you’ll be the one working through it live while I guide you through the logic and pattern recognition.
The flip: At the end of the lesson, you’ll teach the concept back to me. If you can explain it simply in your own words, it means you've actually locked it into your head for exam day, rather than just memorising it for an hour.
If you are doing Computer Science:
I can heavily help with the NEA programming project. I built an AI sign language translator for mine and got a 72/75 on the AQA board. I know exactly how pedantic and annoying the marking criteria can be, so I can help you structure your code, debug your scripts, and organise your documentation so you don't lose silly marks.
️ Lesson Details
Who it's for: GCSE and A-Level students taking Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
Length: Usually 60 minutes for regular topic tracking and exam prep. I also do 90 to 120-minute sessions if we need to do a deep dive into heavy coding, debugging, or complex Further Maths modules.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I highly recommend this maths tutor for their patient, supportive, and engaging approach to teaching. They adapt lessons to each student’s individual needs and create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence. Their dedication to helping students truly understand maths, rather than simply memorising methods, inspires trust and encourages learners to achieve their full potential.
Ismaeel is a fantastic maths tutor who really takes the time to explain concepts clearly rather than just rushing through problems. He's patient, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in helping students understand the material rather than just memorize methods. His sessions are well-structured and he adapts to how you learn best, which made a real difference in building confidence with maths. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable tutor.
Feel free to tweak this to reflect your actual experience with him — a genuine detail or two (like a specific topic he helped with) will make it feel more personal.I was a student in the same class as Ismaeel, and Ismaeel was an excellent tutor for me, helping me understand the A-level maths course properly and was a big reason my predicted grade went from a C to an A*. I highly recommend him as he is very clear in explanations due to his extensive knowledge of the course.
Ismaeel tutored me for A-level Maths and Further Maths in Year 12 and 13. I went from achieving D’s in Further at the start of Year 12 to A’s and A*’s on my UCAS, allowing me to gain a place at Oxford University. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Ismaeel, and I highly recommend his services for all levels of student, as he goes above and beyond the curriculum, while also being efficient, to ensure you’ll never be caught out on a paper as so many were this year.
I was getting 3s on my Maths GCSE before I started using Ismaeel. I ended up with an 8!!!
