Hi, I’m Neal. I’m a chess coach with a 2300+ online rating and national tournament experience. I’m also an NUS student, bringing both competitive insight and a structured, professional approach to every lesson.
I have one year of teaching experience working with students of all levels. My goal is to help you improve efficiently, whether you’re a beginner building solid fundamentals or an advanced player preparing for serious competition.

I take a structured, results-focused approach to chess improvement. Lessons are tailored to each student, with an emphasis on fixing weaknesses and building strong fundamentals.
For beginners, I focus on core concepts like tactics and piece coordination. For stronger players, I work on calculation, positional understanding, and game analysis. A key part of my teaching is reviewing your games to identify and correct mistakes.
Lessons are 60 minutes and conducted online, combining explanation, practice, and analysis.
I have a 2300+ online rating, national tournament experience, and 1 year of teaching experience.
My lessons are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced players who are serious about improving.
