About Jessie
HI! I’m a recent James Ruse graduate and I’m currently studying Actuarial Studies and Commerce at UNSW.
While my tutoring journey has only just begun, what I lack in years of experience, I absolutely make up for in passion, clarity, and relatability. I’ve always been someone who loves breaking down complex ideas into simple, understandable pieces, whether it was helping classmates in school or students online, and that’s exactly how I teach.
Most tutors can tell you what the rules are.
I make sure you actually understand why those rules exist and how to use them.
My specialization is Mathematics, and I also help students with Science and Selective School Preparation. Throughout my tutoring so far, both with private online students and those I’ve worked with in classroom settings, I’ve found that my style helps students not just memorize concepts, but truly internalize them. Many have told me that the way I explain things makes concepts “click” in ways they hadn’t before, because I explain in simple terms without losing the logic behind it.
I love seeing students go from feeling stuck and confused… to confident and empowered with their learning.
Whether you’re needing regular tuition, help with exams, or concepts you just can’t seem to grasp, I’m flexible with scheduling and always willing to adapt lessons to your pace and needs.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to working with you to achieve your academic goals.

Varies on the student but I can either prepare a lesson based on topics that the student feels they’re lacking in OR they can send over questions they have been stuck on at least a day before the lesson
I prepare lessons beforehand so that I can maximise efficiency of the lesson
I also have my own materials from many different sources

Top 20 for year 11/12 physics (out of 100) and year 12 chemistry (out of 140)
HSC exam 93 for physics
HSC exam 92 for chemistry
General info.
Same as math (materials can be used during lessons → notes/questions/how to get full marks in long responses)
Selective:
Achievements
I did selective in 2018 so it was a bit different but 39/40 for math, 56/60 for GA (similar to thinking skills) and 34/45 for reading comprehension
I did the Edu test to get into James Ruse from Baulkham Hills and got in the highest band for everything
Experience
Taught selective materials in a tutoring centre
General info.
Due to selective tests being a lot easier to categorise, I have already come up with solutions to combat question types for thinking skills, reading and math as well as studying materials that may be helpful
Students are free to message me whenever they want (about questions or what they would like to do next lesson)
GENERALLY for my services,
If students are unsure about what to cover during lessons, they are welcome to share any areas they find challenging or topics they would like to strengthen.
If students would like more personalised lessons, they can send me questions they would like me to cover or specific topics/materials they would like me to tailor their lessons to.
