About Janet
I am a currently a primary teaching assistant and a first class psychology undergraduate student, I achieved 11 A*s. I have lots of experience in tutoring and mentoring various subjects and have worked with those with additional or mental health needs
I am a friendly, fun and responsible person who has a passion for helping others, and I have a lot of experience working with and being responsible for young people and children of different ages (mentoring- 2yrs, tutoring- 2yrs, working in a softplay centre) and I think working with young people is a fun, rewarding experience as each child is so unique.
I have studied a variety of subjects and feel competent in them, such as achieving 11 A*s including maths and English at iGSCE level and have undergone further studies (maths, English, Spanish, Economics Biology and Psychology) at a A level equivalent. From further undergraduate study, I am able to be disciplined in educating myself so I can help others and also learn about developmental psychology and apply this to understanding young people in their different learning stages and needs.
Also, I have worked as a care home worker (healthcare assistant) so I am adaptable and able to work with patience and kindness in demanding situations. Further, I have experience from this with being the sole charge of children/ young adults and those with physical and learning disabilities. I am also currently on placement with NHS CAMHS so I'm fluent in being professional and empathetic to our service users.
I hold a enhanced DBS check and I am on the update service.
Overall, I will always treat young people with encouragement with their learning and I am an organised person so I can plan and execute sessions.
I can give you a prior tutor reference or undergo a interview, happy to answer any questions.
