About Sophia
First and foremost, success in math comes from comfortability. I will never intrude on personal lives but I will seek to know you more than a student who I am helping. All that means is asking about your day, and perhaps engaging in small talk if time permits or one of us needs a break. My legitimacy will be affirmed in my honesty, and if you find I am ever wrong I will take accountability. I will respect any and all boundaries, as long as you maintain a kind attitude and open mind.

My preferred method of teaching is working with students to go through a problem or two step-by-step, then oversee them attempt the problem on their own. If there is a particular concept that is difficult for them to grasp, we break it down even more. I am capable of either helping people work through their own homework or providing lessons on material from classes they need help understanding. I try to work on a personal level, seeking a connection with who I am working with because I know it can be much more difficult to solve equations when you are nervous around a teacher or instructor. I am capable of teaching anyone in a lower math subject than I am, likely at the junior or sophomore level in high school or below. :D
