About Nishka

Hi, my name is Nishka Mohan and I hold an offer to study medicine at King's College London this September. I have just finished my A-levels (awaiting results). I studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-level and am predicted an A* in all of these. Additionally, I scored in the top 4% of the country in my UCAT scoring 3080 Band 1 and received 4/4 medical offers post-interview. I thoroughly enjoy teaching as I love to pass on my knowledge to other students. My focus as a tutor is to ensure my students grasp concepts entirely such that they can apply their knowledge confidently to exam questions and achieve their academic dreams to the best of their ability.

About the lesson

I thoroughly enjoy teaching as I love to pass on my knowledge to other students. For Maths, my approach tends to be student-led whereby the student can decide which topics to work on based on their personal strengths and weaknesses. During my A-level, I found categorising questions into question types was useful hence I have implemented this into my teaching style. I created resources for both UCAT and interviews that helped me and my friends with their applications and would love to use these on a larger platform to help many more students. In terms of UCAT, I believe that I can help students with improving mental maths in QR (I scored 900) which is crucial in answering questions quickly. With decision making, I believe that the best technique is to categorise the questions and tackle each question type in a methodical way using diagrams to navigate through wordier questions. Finally, with Verbal reasoning, I would help students by focusing on speed reading and spotting key words in paragraphs. Furthermore, for interview preparation, I found that answering tricky questions is the best way to think about hot topics, for which I have a large number of and will implement this into my tutoring.
