Mona has been involved with teaching and inspiring the next generation for even longer than I have known her. Patiently involved with the needs of the students and their families, her kindness stood out for all to see.
As a mother, school teacher and kids church leader, her value is clear and always needed.

Mona was my daughter’s teacher and she cultivated a love for reading in her. This helped improve her languages together with the fun and interesting way that Mona taught the children.

I have been teaching Afrikaans for nearly ten years (high school). It is in this capacity that I first got to know Mona as a dedicated and very able colleague. She has since been the Afrikaans teacher for my twins (grade 7). In a few months she raised the standard of their work immensely. My kids loved and respected her as a teacher and were devasted when she relocated. As a colleague and a mom I only have the highest regard for not only her knowledge and work ethic, but her excellent rapport with kids.

Mona is een van die beste onderwysers wat ek in my kind se skoolloopbaan raakgeloop het. Sy gee klas vir haar liefde vir die kinders en nie net vir die geld alleen nie. Die kinders is mal oor haar en die manier hoe sy die werk aan hulle oordra verstaan hulle dadelik. Verder gebruik sy suiwer Afrikaans en dit is vir my so belangrik sodat ons kinders se taalgebruik nie tot niet gaan nie. Ek sal haar enige dag aanbeveel op Superprof om Afrikaans aantebied. Sy is puik en het ons lewens en meer belangrik baie kinders se lewens aangeraak in die tyd wat sy by Durban Noord Kollege klas gegee het.

She has a passion for the language . She cares a lot about the learners an she always tries to make it as fun as possible and find new ways of teaching Afrikaans.
