About Dasun
Hello! My name is Dasun, and I am an International Rated Chess Player with a passion for both playing and teaching chess.
Chess has been an important part of my life for many years, allowing me to compete against strong players, develop advanced strategic thinking skills, and gain valuable tournament experience. Through my journey as a competitive player, I have learned that success in chess comes not only from talent but also from understanding the fundamentals, practising consistently, and having the right guidance.
As a tutor, I am patient, supportive, and committed to helping every student reach their potential. I believe that chess should be both educational and enjoyable, so I create lessons that are engaging, easy to follow, and tailored to each student's individual needs and goals.
Whether you are a complete beginner learning the rules for the first time or a developing player looking to strengthen your tactics and strategy, I will provide clear explanations, practical exercises, and personalised feedback to help you improve with confidence.
My aim is not only to help students become stronger chess players but also to develop important life skills such as critical thinking, concentration, discipline, problem-solving, and decision-making.
