About Edison

Moving away from home for the first time can be exciting, but learning how to cook for yourself can also feel overwhelming. My goal is to make Filipino home cooking simple, practical, and approachable, so you can confidently prepare delicious meals that remind you of home.

My love for cooking started at an early age. I learned by watching my mother and father prepare meals, asking them about the proper steps, techniques, and things to avoid. Their guidance gave me a strong foundation, but much of my cooking knowledge was developed through years of hands-on experience.

At 18, I left home to live in a boarding house. Being on my own meant that I had to rely on myself in the kitchen. Through daily practice, experimentation, and plenty of trial and error, I continued to improve my cooking skills. I also took the specialty dishes I learned from my mother and father and developed them further through countless attempts—adjusting ingredients, techniques, and cooking methods until I was able to make them my own while preserving the flavors I grew up with.

Today, I have a family of my own and three children whom I regularly cook for. Cooking has become more than just a skill I learned from my parents—it is a practical part of my everyday life and something I genuinely enjoy sharing with others.

As your tutor, I want to share that experience with you. My lessons focus on real Filipino home cooking, rather than complicated restaurant techniques. I will guide you step by step, explain not only what to do but why we do it, and share the practical tips I've learned through years of cooking.

Whether you're a student living in a dorm, a young professional in a boarding house, or a fresh graduate starting life on your own, you can learn to cook.

You don't need to be an expert. You just need the willingness to learn, practice, and enjoy the process.

My goal is simple: to help you become confident in preparing delicious Filipino home-cooked meals—and bring a little taste of home wherever life takes you.
