About Karen

My first teaching experience was back in 2013-2014. During that year, I taught French at Chengchi Daxue university (Taipei). That first experience encouraged me to complete a master degree in French for foreigners teaching, which I obtained in 2017 with distinction. Since then, I have been working for several schools and universities around Lille (North of France): the French for foreigners department of Lille university (Défi), Lil'langues (a private language school), the International Academy (an excellence summer program created by local universities for exchange students and selected migrants)... During my studies, I also worked for a Mooc aiming to prepare students from all over the world for DELF B2.

I'm also a qualified examiner for DELF/DALF (till C2/fluent level), TCF and TEF exams.

Beyond my teaching experiences in French, I've been writing papers for magazines about Japanese pop-culture since 2008.

About the lesson

What can you expect with me as a teacher? Learning French through various activities tailored to your needs, focusing on communication skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) so you can directly apply in real life situations what we have learned in class! Grammar and vocabulary we will study are always related and contextualized in the lesson documents (texts, videos, dialogues). You won't have to spend money on expensive textbooks (unless you want to use a specific one!), I will provide everything you need for the lessons. I have trained students from beginner level (A0) to native level (C2), and if it is in your plans to take a French test, I am also a qualified examiner for DELF/DALF (untill C2 level), TCF and TEF! I know everything about those tests and I can help you to achieve the highest score possible.

Ilse est une élève avec qui il est toujours plaisant de discuter (cours de conversation par skype). Elle a par ailleurs un grand intérêt pour le français puisqu'elle enseigne elle-même cette langue ! Elle est aussi toujours à l'heure et prévient quand il y a un imprévu.

Details

All materials are included in the price. If you want to be trained for a French exam, be aware that you will often need more than 10 hours to be properly prepared, especially for the difficult DELF B2, and DALF C1 and C2. I would recommend taking a first free lesson, so I can evaluate your level. I will then provide you with a learning plan specially tailored for, that you are free to accept or not.
