About Liwen
I am a native Chinese speaker, born and raised in China, and a Finance graduate of Imperial College London. My career has spanned both across UK and China, and I currently work in front-office, investment banking in London, working mostly with clients in the APAC and EMEA space.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy video editing, playing the piano, and travelling — interests that often find their way into my lessons to make learning more engaging and relatable.

My teaching approach focuses on creating a relaxed, supportive environment where students can learn Mandarin enjoyably. I use interactive methods such as regular reading exercises, exploring Chinese culture, history, arts and introducing Chinese pop music to make the language engaging and more memorable. I am happy to support complete beginners, as well as learners who want to improve their Mandarin pronunciation, fluency, and overall confidence.
