About the lesson

In this exciting, hands-on Roblox game development class, students will learn how to turn their ideas into their very own playable games! Using Roblox Studio and Lua scripting, students will explore the fundamentals of programming while designing, building, and customizing their game worlds.

Throughout the class, students will work on projects such as:

Designing and building their own Roblox game worlds
Creating obstacles, challenges, platforms, and interactive environments
Learning Lua scripting and using code to make their games interactive
️ Creating game mechanics such as scoring, checkpoints, rewards, and player interactions
Adding special features and effects to make their games more exciting
Creating interactive objects and characters
Designing challenges and gameplay experiences for other players
Testing, debugging, and improving their games
Customizing their games and expressing their own creativity
Building a complete playable game that they can be proud of
A Fun Learning Experience

The class is designed to make coding feel like play! Instead of learning programming only through traditional exercises, students learn by creating something they actually want to play.

Students will experiment with code, make mistakes, solve problems, and see the results of their work immediately inside their Roblox games. Every project gives them an opportunity to be creative while developing important skills in programming, logical thinking, problem-solving, and game design.

By the end of the class, students will have created their own Roblox game and gained a strong introduction to Lua programming and game development—all while having fun and bringing their imagination to life!
